Send to the kitchen

For everyone · updated 18 Oct 2026

Send prints one ticket per kitchen station (or shows it on the kitchen screen) for the dishes added since the last round. Each send is a new round.

Till (an order) Send

  1. Add the dishes for this round.
  2. Tap Send. Or Send + bill when guests pay straight away.
  3. The till shows each station's answer: Printing…, then Printed ✓.
  4. Later dishes for the same table go as Round 2, Round 3 and so on.
  5. Mains held? When the table is ready, fire them: the kitchen gets "Mains fired".

Example

Starters now, mains later

Table 2 orders samosas and two curries. The curries are in the Mains course, so they're held. Send prints the samosas now (Round 1). When the starters are cleared, fire the mains: the Tandoor gets them as the next round.

Example

A café that makes everything at the counter

The owner set "How the kitchen gets orders" to No tickets: made at the counter. The button says Done instead of Send, and the till never asks for a printer.

A ticket got lost in the kitchen

Tap the sent dish and choose Reprint the kitchen ticket. The copy is marked REPRINT so the kitchen doesn't make it twice.

A guest adds one more of something already sent

Tap the sent line and choose One more: it's added to the next round.

If it goes wrong

"Waiting for the printer"

The ticket is kept safely and shows as Not printed in the top bar until it prints. Check the printer has paper and is on, or see The printer stopped printing.

If it goes wrong

"No kitchen printer on this till yet"

Tickets wait safely until one is set up. Tap Set up printer, or see Add a printer.
