Take an order

For everyone · updated 18 Oct 2026

Start from a table, or from New order, Takeaway or Delivery at the top. Then add dishes by tapping, by searching, or by typing codes.

Till Tables (a table)

  1. Tap the table. If the restaurant asks for guests, tap the number of guests (or Skip).
  2. Add dishes:
    • tap a dish in Favourites, Popular or a category;
    • or type in Find a dish or code (for example "2 FW" for two flat whites) and press Enter to add;
    • or use the Keypad: quantity × code, then Add.
  3. A dish with options asks for them (size, spice level, toppings). Required choices must be picked.
  4. Hold a dish to Add with a note ("no onion", "extra hot"); quick notes are one tap.
  5. Check the order on the right, then Send it to the kitchen.

Example

A table of four

Table 6, four guests. Tap Butter Chicken › Full, Garlic naan × 2, Jeera rice, and a Mango lassi with the note "less sugar". Tap Send: the curry and naan print at the Tandoor, the lassi at the Bar.

Example

Typing codes at a busy counter

Type "2 FW, 1 CAP, 1 CRS" and press Enter: two flat whites, a cappuccino and a croissant are added in one go. If a code matches two dishes, the till shows "ALSO MATCHES · ↑↓ TO SWAP".

A guest wants something that isn't on the menu

Use More for this order › Not on the menu…: give it a name, where it's made and a price, then Add to order. It needs the "Add open items" permission and shows in the back office's Review.

The restaurant runs out of a dish mid-service

Hold the dish and switch on Sold out today: it stops on every till, the QR page and the kiosk at this branch until tomorrow, or until switched back. Or set Portions left so tiles show "5 left". Only staff allowed to mark dishes sold out see this.

The dish is back. How do I sell it again?

Hold the dish and switch Sold out today off. It's on sale again on every till, the QR page and the kiosk, whatever sold it out: the switch, today's portions used up (the limit is lifted; add portions again if you still want one), or every size sold out. A dish sold out because an ingredient ran out in Stock asks how much of it you have now: that's saved as a stock count (it needs Count stock), and the dish is back as soon as the till syncs.

Example

Dal Makhani, 4 portions a day

At 7 pm all 4 are sold and the tile says Sold out. The kitchen makes another pot. Hold Dal Makhani, switch Sold out today off: it's on sale with no limit. To sell only 6 more, set Portions left to 6 and Save portions.

What do the table colours mean?

Each table shows its state: Ordering · not sent, Food sent, Billed, how long guests have been seated, and badges such as 1 ready or QR · 2 waiting.

If it goes wrong

I removed a dish by mistake

Tap Undo in the strip that appears ("Removed … · nothing went to the kitchen").

If it goes wrong

A dish shows "not served now"

It's outside the times that dish is on the menu. A manager can change When it's on the menu on the dish in the back office.
